CALL FOR BOOK PROPOSALS

IHF Modern Iran Series

  • Bloomsbury Academic, is inviting book proposals for a new Open Access, peer reviewed academic book series: IHF Modern Iran Series
  • The Iran Heritage Foundation (IHF) is supporting successful applicants with Open Access publications
  • To submit a proposal to the series, please fill in this form and submit it to Rory Gormley (rory.gormley@bloomsbury.com) and Hassan Hakimian (hh2@soas.ac.uk)
  • This is a third-round call for book proposals since the series started in 2025, and the deadline for submissions is 31 August 2026.

The IHF Modern Iran Series publishes innovative Open Access books with a broad thematic focus on modern and contemporary Iran. The chronological scope of the series covers the late nineteenth century to the present day with thematic areas ranging from cultural and social to political and economic issues. Single and co-authored volumes as well as edited volumes are eligible for consideration. Themes and topics include, but are not limited to, the following:

Publishing and Peer Review Process 

All books in the series will be subject to peer review overseen by the Series Editor and Advisory Board. They will be published in initial hardback and Open Access eBook editions, with paperback editions following 18 months after initial publication.

Iran Heritage Foundation (IHF) will provide support for Open Access publication costs of successful proposals competitively selected by the Editorial Board.
