The Fifteenth Biennial Iranian Studies Conference organised by the Association for Iranian Studies will be hosted by the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at Utrecht University from 5th to 8th August 2026. Bringing together just over 400 speakers representing a plethora of disciplines connected to the study of Iran and the broader Persophone world, this international conference serves as a platform for presenting and discussing the most recent research in the field of Iranian Studies. Leading academics will gather to examine not only Iran’s long history and its current geopolitical situation, but also Persian literature, Iranian art, architecture, and music, Iranian religions, Sufism and philosophy, and many other topics besides.
